KALLONI, female, 3 years old
Kalloni has a wonderful nature and is extremely affectionate. She melts with joy when being stroked. Unfortunately, she has
been neglected by her owner (who no longer needs her) and
currently lives chained to a wall in a pit full of rubbish. Her shelter is a metal barrel full of holes that fills up with water when it rains. Due to lack of resources, Kalloni has to struggle for her life on this windswept spot until we can find her better shelter. Please help us do so or even better: offer her a home. (10/08) |

KOUTCHO, male, 4 years old
Koutcho (‘lame’) is named after his handicap, caused by a
broken leg as a puppy. This injury was never taken care of
by his previous ‘owner’ and Koutcho was abandoned shortly
afterward, after receiving regular beatings for being useless as
a sheepdog. He has been in our care ever since. We offer him
basic shelter, food, medicine, walks and love. It is always
amazing how a dog with a history like Koutcho can be so
friendly and trusting towards people. He is in desperate need
of a home. (10/08)

MYRTO, female, 3 years old, spayed
Myrto has a New Home! In January 2009, sweet Myrto was been adopted by a loving Dutch family. She now lives a very happy, free and comfortable life in a nice countryhouse in the South of Holland where she enjoys in the company and friendship of Polly, a stray dog the family adopted from Gallipoli in Italy. KALOS, male, 5 years old
Kalos (‘the good one’) is a gentle sheepdog. He once belonged to a shepherd who took good care of him, but was given away to a goat herder who keeps him tied and only remembers to feed him once in a while. Kalos misses his freedom and is always hoping we have come to free him when we stop by to feed him and give him water. (10/08) |

PAPOUS, male, about 7 years old.
Papous (‘Grandpa’) was brought down from a ‘family home’ in the city to live in the ‘countryside’. He was left in the hands of a goat herder who uses him as a ‘barking machine’ out in the wilderness to deter his goats from passing the point where he has him tied up on a chain. Papous has never been freed and deeply appreciates the short visit we pay him every second day and awaits his food and moment of affection eagerly. (10/08)

FOVITZIARI, male, approx. 2.5 years old.
Fovitziari (‘the frightened one’), sadly, is an extremely traumatised dog—regularly beaten as a puppy while serving as a sheepdog. When he was no longer of any use, his owner wanted to kill Foviztiari, but we took him instead. He still expects to be beaten whenever someone touches him, but he is totally docile and actually wags his tail when it’s time for his daily walk. We offer him food, medicine and walks and very slowly he seems to be gaining some trust. (10/08)
