On April 22, a father and his two sons found a kitten on the beach of Agia Anna in Amorgos. Together, they searched for his mother, and checked in on him throughout the following 24 hours. But, after a full day went by with no sign of the kitten’s mother, they called us. We took him in, named him Eclair, and immediately began an aggressive bottle-feeding schedule so the kitten could regain his strength.
Just a week later, a young lady heard a kitten crying in a field in Katapola. This cat was also all alone, so the woman waited with him, to see if his mother would return. By nightfall, his mother had still not appeared, and a storm began to roll in. Fearing for his safety, the woman took the cat home for the night, and placed him back in the field the next morning just in case. But when she returned to check on him, he was still alone — so she called us for help.
That’s how Konan arrived at our shelter, and of course, we placed him on the same bottle feeding schedule as Eclair. When we introduced this pair of kittens, both exactly the same age, something clicked. Since then, they’ve eaten together, played together, napped together, and raised adorable chaos together, as kittens do.
They’ll stay here with us until they are healthy and old enough to be adopted. But for now, the two of them are thriving, together. Help us and the good people of Amorgos keep responding fast to animals in urgent need. A small donation helps us cover kitten formula, community education, and the cost of daily care.
